2024 is the year of travel for me and before I set off on a three month backpacking trip, I have just taken a trip to Rhodes for a week.
This is my first dip in the sea of writing travel articles, so let’s get into it.
The Hotel

Atlantica Imperial Resort is a 5-Star hotel located in Kolymbia and has beautiful views of the bay and the mountain of Tsambika.
When arriving at the hotel, we were greeted with warm towels and a glass of champagne, and were then escorted to the room on a Golf Buggy with our belongings (none of us felt special enough for this).
We had been upgraded to a ‘Premium double room with limited sea view’ which consisted of a large double bed, one single bed, a sofa, a gorgeous open bathroom and a balcony. Despite there being three of us, we had plenty of room and all of us were extremely happy with the quality of the room and felt very much at home.
Everything about this hotel is stunning, the multiple pools, the beach, the restaurants, we felt thoroughly spoilt and were treated to perfection.
One waiter even made our friend a ‘Napkin Boyfriend’ and another telling us we were his light, although we know they probably say this to everyone but I’ll pretend to believe it was just for me.
The food was absolutely out of this world.
With multiple bars and restaurants you are spoilt with choices but the main All-Inclusive and Half-Board restaurant was located in the Agora Main Restaurant.
Me and my friends had opted for half-board which meant we had breakfast and dinner included, all though we were able to switch this any day if we liked.
Breakfast was your typical full English, yoghurt, cereal, toast and pastries but on a whole other level.
Dinner was different every night with the theme of the night changing with the days. Whilst we were there we had Greek Night, Asian Night and International Night.
Between the three of us we have a vegetarian, a nut allergy and a dairy allergy (sadly me) and none of us ever struggled for choice and some of that food I’ll be thinking about for weeks. Especially you – the sausages ❤
The cocktails were fabulous with a Cosmopolitan and a Pina Colada quickly becoming the staples of the week which were perfectly paired with the excellent entertainment.
Along with the themed food nights, also came with the entertainment.
We sang along with ‘The Jackson Four’, learnt some greek dancing, listened to some fabulous singing from ‘The Passengers Duo’ and had a DJ set!
I honestly don’t think there is much more I could say about this hotel other than I highly recommend it and I can definitely see another visit in my future.
Rhodes Old Town

Our first trip out was to Rhodes Old Town. Our hotel perfectly located opposite the bus station meant an easy pick up with four euro trip each way. The journey which was around 45 minutes was quick and easy and we were dropped off very central near the shops and the sea.
You are welcomed with beautiful views of the water, a large town of modern and local shops and of course the castle of St Georges Bastion.
There is so much to see and do whilst strolling around the town and I would love to go again.
One thing that I would be wary off is the amount of men shouting at you to come to their restaurants.
We had one man shout “blonde” one too many times to my friend Shannon (who is of course blonde) and called another one of my friends “easy” after mishearing the name “Izzy”, which of course will now stick forever, sorry Izzy or Easy.
However when we did decide to have a bite to eat, we stopped at a lovely place called ‘Island Lipsi – Niki’s Service’.
Spending less than 5 euros on incredible Gyros, with the grandfather’s recipe of the pita bread, we were in for a lovely treat which was accompanied with a quick game of Uno.
Uno had quickly become the game of the holiday.
Rhodes Old Town is a definite visit.
Lindos

The day after Rhodes we took a quick 30 minute bus journey to Lindos which we had heard great things about.
We spent our morning observing the white buildings, a ton of cats and taking a big steep walk to the Acropolis of Lindos.
INFO: To enter the Acropolis it is 12 euros but you can still walk to the top and admire the view.
The whole area is clean with a lovely beach and a cute walk to the Acropolis which is accompanied with the view of the sea and the knowledge of having ice cream after the warm walk up and down.
Overall it’s a beautiful view but not much to do, so would recommend for a short trip for a few hours or I imagine it would be a beautiful place for your hotel to lounge and appreciate the beautiful view.

And that was our trip to Rhodes!
Thank you so much to Tui for a beautiful and easy trip to Rhodes and particularly for looking after my friend’s broken suitcase, with two broken suitcases in one trip, we must have some weird luck.
Thank you to Atlantica Imperial Resort for raising my standards on all future holidays and hotels, you looked after all of us perfectly and I will never forget this holiday.
And to Shan and Iz – thank you for the incredible laughs.
