I am a high-achieving NCTJ qualified graduate, who left university in 2023 with a high 2:1 in BA Journalism, with a versatile skill set spanning across various sectors. After a short career break to backpack, I am now utilising these skills as a social media freelancer. Social Media and Marketing Assistant | Derby Book Festival | February 2025
Creating and scheduling social media content on socials to help promote the book festival and the Shared Reading element of the charity through utilising my skills on Canva to help produce content along with creating posters to promote events and social media posts. Produce and writing press releases to then be send to local news organisations to help promote upcoming projects, alongside producing monthly newsletters to contacts. Also keeping our website on CRAFT CMS up to date with news and photos and setting up individual events and keeping track of ticket sales
Recently did my first interview in front of a crowd at the most recent Summer Festival interviewing for the Fantasy Fiction event. Reading and curating questions for the authors ‘Antonia Hodgson’ and ‘Abbie Eaton’. I also help volunteer at events taking content but also running guest lists, helping set up, book sales and looking after guests and authors
Freelance Social Media Journalist | BBC | November 2024 – March 2025
Working at BBC East Midlands, I had the opportunity to utilise my social media and journalism degree skills together. Publishing social media posts across multiple platforms such as Facebook, X and Instagram for BBC East Midlands, Nottingham, Leicester and Derby using Social Flow and Meta Business Suite. I am ensuring our audiences are gaining access to valuable information on their screens at all time. Also creating reels with voice overs for Instagram and Facebook alongside videos embedded into BBC articles using Adobe Final Cut Pro showcasing my video editing abilities.

In recent years, I have demonstrated advancement within the organisation, moving from an assistant role to supervisory responsibilities. I expertly manage staffing to ensure maximum operational effectiveness. My job entails resolving various customer issues, including complex scenarios such as refunds, returns, and theft. In addition to these duties, I diligently manage financial transactions within the cash office, maintaining a meticulous standard of accuracy. This multifaceted journey exemplifies the dedication and diligence that I consistently bring to the organisation, cementing my reputation as a dependable and resourceful asset.
TikTok Book Ambassador | TikTok | May 2020 – August 2025
Since the beginning of the pandemic, I’ve been involved in literary promotion by curating and distributing content related to books for a dedicated TikTok community. Over the last few years, I’ve skilfully cultivated a sizeable following of over 5700 users. This journey has led to collaborations with prestigious publishing houses such as Penguin, Harper Collins, and Avon Books. My endeavours have ranged from receiving influencer packages to being commissioned for promotional posts, all of which have demonstrated my
ability to orchestrate creative content. This engagement has allowed me to demonstrate a keen understanding of influencer dynamics and PR marketing strategies, which I have prominently displayed on my TikTok platform.

During my time at University, I have contributed to the university magazine, Platform. As a dedicated member, I authored numerous articles while assuming the responsibility of overseeing the social media team on a weekly basis. Collaboratively, we orchestrated strategic social media campaigns that encompassed all our digital platforms. Notably, I attended and reviewed concerts featuring acclaimed artists like Bastille, Loyle Carner, and Tom O’Dell. My enthusiasm for writing is evident throughout the magazine, both in its online and print editions. Noteworthy are my in-depth features exploring the representation of women in male-centric gaming, among other compelling subjects. This experience has not
only honed my skills but also amplified my commitment to delivering insightful and impactful content.
Marketing and PR Events Intern | POM | August 2022
During my internship at POM, a dating app which connects people through the power of music, I actively contributed to the execution of strategic social media initiatives by orchestrating engaging campaign stunts across various London locations, while curating and distributing content across various digital platforms. The
pinnacle of my experience was overseeing the conceptualization, planning, and successful execution of the POM X REDBULL networking event. I assumed responsibility for coordinating various aspects of the event, from formulating an exclusive guest-list to crafting captivating content. This event featured a curated lineup
of 11 emerging London artists, showcased within the prestigious setting of the Red Bull HQ. This experience highlighted my ability to merge creativity, logistics, and a keen understanding of audience engagement to foster brand interactions.
