Although arguably 70s fashion has never gone out of style, the arrival of Daisy Jones and The Six will elevate this.
The Amazon Prime series based on the Taylor Jenkins Reid book follows a fictional band in 1970s California.
Told in an interview style, the book shows the rise and fall of the band, Daisy Jones and The Six, through the age of sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll.
This won’t be the first time a TV series has hit the fashion world with HBO’s Euphoria as an example of makeup and outfit looks emerging into people’s everyday clothing looks.
Starring Riley Keough (Elvis’ very own granddaughter) Sam Claflin and Suki Waterhouse, the series will show how fame and music can truly overtake your life.
Music will be a big part of the show but so will fashion, all thanks to Costume designer Denise Wingate.
The band, loosely based on ‘Fleetwood Mac’, even recreated similar photo shoots, including the familiar poses and fashion looks.
Billy Dunne, played by romance heartthrob Sam Claflin, regularly sports double-denim looks inspired by Bruce Springsteen.
With other characters inspired by the likes of Stevie Nicks and Patti Smith.
We’ll begin to see more flared sleeves, aviator glasses and bellbottoms being bought in stores.
Free People is one company that has jumped on the trend early with a capsule collection for the series, including all things fringe, flare and flowy.
Perfectingly showcasing the star of the show, Riley Keough as Daisy Jones, wearing the pieces on their website which launches March 13.
I for one will be questioning my entire wardrobe after watching the series.
Make sure to keep up with the trend and find the 70s staples you won’t want to miss, along with the series which is now available to watch on Amazon Prime.
